In late 19th century, the Invisible Empire started rising and that threatened the fabric of the society, this was where the history of the Ku Klux Klan or KKK began. The groups who have no place in country like the ones anti-Catholicism, nativism, racism, anti-Semitism and all other themes having bigotry and hatred are being associated with Ku Klux Klan in addition to the ones who are white supremacy followers.
In order to spread the message, the organization Ku Klux Klan used to burn the cross and do lynching and follow other acts of terrorism, intimidation and violence. The African-Americans and the other people who had separate ideology other than KKK became the point of violence. Even after the strict actions of FBI and the legendary J Edgar Hoover, still the bits and pieces of KKK are there in America till today.
The three separate sections can be made based upon the history of the Ku Klux Klan. The first level came after the American Civil War when the Government was unstable and there were chances of rivalry between the African American and the former masters. The name KKK, at that time was not formally used by the ideology, the white supremacy groups like White Brotherhood, Men of Justice and Pale Faces.
It was in 1866, when the name KKK was taken and in the aim to keep with the heritage, the rich landowners invested in the organization to maintain the status quo with their tradition and making use of the slaves to work on the cotton fields. The KKK derived from the word "Kuklos" that is of Greek language. It was in short time when the KKK became popular and the smaller groups also became the part of this organization. The KKK made their objectives fulfilled by spreading the terror by means of whipping, lynching and murdering especially. It is already mentioned that in addition to the blacks, the carpetbaggers were also targeted by the Klan. Carpetbaggers are the ones who in aim of economic means traveled from South to North. The KKK were good in recruiting the members because of the view of romanticism in fighting for invisible empire. The majority members were from the ex-confederate army enlisters and due to the fact at the time of the Civil war they already had bitterness in their hearts.
